Combating Stress at Workplace

Has anyone of us realise that 60-70% of our time is spent at office? We spent less than 30% of our time is within our social cycle, friends, family or relative. Of course, we removed the bed time when we commented the above.

Research has shown that work stress has repeatedly been associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease, weight management & emotional management (EQ). There are two different type of stress , Positive (eustress) & Negative (distress) stress. Workplace stress usually origin from Job Nature and/or interaction with People, many named as Interpersonal Skill.

Stress & Anger Management (SAM) become one of the “big thing” for many organisation to tackle especially employee are expected to be contactable “24/7” with the launch of smart-phone.

Time Management (TM) is one of is key solution to SAM, it will allow you to better organise your schedule, more efficient & increases the productivity. Apart from TM, the ABC strategy will be able to help an individual when handling “situation”.

A - Awareness
  • What causes the stress
  • How do you react
B - Balance
  • How can we cope with it before it became negative
C - Control
  • What can we do to help to combat the negative stress

We must have the basic understanding of human behaviour and acknowledge the differences exits in every individual. A powerful assessment tool will be the DISC behavioural profiling; which identify individual trait during "relax" & "stress" environment for better self-understanding.
